where this
came from
If you’ve wandered this far, hello.
My name is Mikko Seppinen.
For more than twenty-five years,
I have practised, studied
and taught yoga.
I spent long periods in India,
learning from teachers rooted
in traditional yoga,
founded a yoga studio in Copenhagen,
and taught in many corners of the world.
(It sounds surprisingly coherent
when arranged like this.
Living it was less so.)
Somewhere along the way,
I also earned a master’s degree in sociology.
I have worked in journalism,
consulting and communications,
and once spent a summer cleaning storm drains
with a wheelbarrow and a tool
that looked mildly suspicious in public.
⚪︎
This grew somewhere out of all of that.
Not really as a departure from any of it.
More as something that had been there
for a long time
and eventually wanted its own room.
⚪︎
I live with my family in Finland —
where parenthood has a way of keeping
twenty-five years of yoga
pleasantly practical.
And in the evenings,
I return to Star Trek —
perhaps because even in distant galaxies,
the questions remain much the same:
who we are,
how we should live,
and how to remain in contact
with what matters
when life does not arrange itself
around our peace.
⚪︎
This is a little room
for what usually gets missed.
Some writing.
A few ways to stay longer.
More space than answers.
Nothing here needs to become
more important than that.
